That's all for now. I will eventually do a short comic as a further test with one of the other major characters. Haven't fully thought how I'd want to make it yet (4/4). #kakomako #kakomakodevart #digitalart #comic #kakomakoart #sketch

A digital sketch page, rough in style, but has frames of the three characters, Kako, Daria, and Chroma.

Page Format - I don't have the original drawings of this page, but the digital sketch was eventually refined with the Evolve brush in Procreate. Daria's (the pink one) and Chroma (the blue one)'s places were shifted for continuity with other unshown pages (3/4). #kakomako #kakomakodevart #comic

5 different progression shots of color style, focusing on Kako Mako. Sketch, Digital Sketch, Color Test 1, Color Test 2, and Final Result.

Style Progression - I drew the actual page probably about a year ago now, the below are variants of attempts for me to find a style I liked. The current test page is a mixture of my current painting style on Procreate mimicking my vector style (2/4). #kakomako #kakomakodevart #sketch #kakomakoart

A comic of three characters of sea creature aliens. Chroma, a blue-green sea slug, Daria, a pink jellyfish, and the titular character, Kako Mako, an orange octopus. The scene is in a diner.

<Frame 1> (Chroma and Daria look astonished as they eat their food)
Kako: I want to go to Earth.
Daria: What?
<Frame 2-3> (Kako slams her hand on the table in anger or frustration, Chroma returns to her drink, Daria look at Kako, baffled).
Kako: I. Want. To. Go. To. Earth! I want better material for my work, nothing interesting happens here on Physalia!
Daria: Are you nuts? What about Callisto? Io maybe?
Kako: Nowhere in Jovia works?
<Frame 4> (Kako's face, surprised at Daria's response)
Daria: Earth though? What about the cost?
Daria: Earth is past the belt, you'd need to get a place, food costs, no active income...
<Frame 5> (Kako averts her gaze to think, struggling to come up with a response).
Daria: You didn't consider the COSTS?
Kako: uhh....

Kako Mako, Test Page - Eventually I'm considering doing short stories of my Kako Mako characters. This is a visual test page on format. I wasn't testing text, font choice was a font named Salina. (1/4) #kakomako #kakomakodevart #digitalart #comic #kakomakoart

Also before anyone asks; yes it is very much inspired by Final Fantasy and I am playing a dragoon. My character is a Burmecian! Here are two pieces of art I've done of her, also a little pixel image @madqueenmomo.bsky.social made of her!

This was a different process than what I'm used to as it was the first time I made a map in Procreate, but I was really satisfied with the end result, and I look forward to future versions as well. Hope you enjoy my rants.

Progress Shots 1 - The way I do maps now are to make giant shapes and do a very rough coloring of biome types, then as I go further in detail I do a lineart and build internal details from there (3/4).

Detail Shots - My character's region is 'Castuda', I will render out the other regions in a later version as we get further (I'm not the DM if you can tell), but I was still happy with how some of the other geographic details came out overall (2/4).

Fabula Ultima Campaign Map, Ver 1.0- A map design I did for a fabula ultima campaign I'm a part of; currently we're doing it as a brief reprieve from Candlekeep, but it was still fun to make this, and I really liked the end result. (1/4)
