So #HigherEd #TheatreSky folks, it’s time to chat about #KCACTF. What are we doing instead this year? Where are we relocating to? Or how are we seizing the moment to speak up for our students & craft clearly?

Clinging to “tradition” would demonstrate support for what is new.

We cannot.

Hello Greensboro, NC! Let’s have a great week celebrating the next generation of theatre makers in a time when we need to speak truth more than ever.

Web banner version of the poster for this production. All figures are against a white background. On the left and right sides of the frame are black silhouettes of a man and woman, visible from about mid-torso to mid-thigh. In the top center of the frame, the arms of the silhouettes cross each other and then curve back around towards each other’s hands, as though the figures are about to clasp hands or jointly form a heart shape with their thumbs and fingers in the center of the frame, but there is still negative white space between their hands. There is a jagged zig-zag red line which bisects the couple vertically, coming across their crossed arms and in between their almost-joined hands. In the same shade of red, there is wording lettered over both torsos: on the left side, the man’s torso has 'The Way It Is' inscribed, and on the right side, the woman’s torso has 'by Donna Hoke”' inscribed. All lettering is in Benedict font.

I wrote a joke piece in the dead of night about my personal anxieties, and somehow ended up walking away from KCACTF Region 5 with this. I'm grateful for everyone's support and for the words of encouragement I received. I will surely write again. #kcactf #playwriting
