Tsukishima knows Kuroo is in the room with him before he even opens his eyes. In high school, he had never smelled Kuroo. He was a beta to start so the pheromones the young alphas let out were nonexistent to him. After his botched presentation, Kuroo wore scent blockers every time he saw him. He doesn't recognize the earthy scent at first, but he recognizes the anger it's rolled in. He had felt it in the growl Kuroo had directed at the woman in the hallway. Tsukishima's omega-side was queasy at the scent, even though Kuroo wasn't his alpha. It was annoying to give in to his basic instincts like this. What did he care if Kuroo was angry? He meant nothing to him. With effort, he scrunches his nose, frowning. He opens his mouth to complain but the angry scent cuts out, all at once. The remaining scent is perhaps worse; Tsukishima knows he would have spent hours rolling in it if Kageyama hadn't interfered. 'Sorry,' Kuroo apologizes, his voice soft. 'I didn't mean to-' 'Flood the room with your emotions? How immature of you, Kuroo-san. He opens one eye to acclimate himself back to the light, well aware it doesn't quite work like that, just in time to see Kuroo flinch.
