Figure 4 in Saros et al. (2025): "Transformation of lakes from blue to brown. (A) shows that clearwater, blue, lakes (photo from summer 2014) became darkly stained, brown, in 2023 (photo from summer 2023). (B) The central point is the median depth of 1% PAR across lakes for each year since 2013, the thicker line shows the interquartile range, and the thinner line shows maximum and minimum values. Blue distributions show data before 2023, and brown show data from July and August 2023 and July 2024. (C) Nutrient-color status of lakes shifted in July 2023 & 2024 compared to July of 2016 to 2022, with lakes moving toward the brown quartile. Both axes are on a log10 scale. (D) Light underwater was substantially reduced in 2023 (brown) compared to 2022 (blue) in lake SS85. The ribbons show the interquartile range of daily values from a PME miniPAR sensor anchored 3 m below the surface from mid-April (DOY 100) to the end of June (DOY 180).
