Hiei lowers his eyes and makes a pointing gesture. Hiei: I don't really care what you end up doing one way or the other. But seeing you deny yourself something you obviously want is irritating to watch. This dedication to being an upstanding son, a good person, I won't say I understand it. Hiei squints his eyes and rubs his fingers on his forehead. Hiei: But far worse people do far worse things than... ask someone out. Hiei's eyes shoot open. His palm opens wide, and he looks angry over what he just said. He glares at Kurama, who looks at him quizzically. Hiei: Saying that out loud pissed me off. Hiei flicks Kurama on his forehead. Kurama: Just do it, you ignoramus.

Hiei looks up at Kurama with a serious expression. Hiei: And about that "not being worth it" crap... why not let her decide? If she doesn't want anything to do with you, get over it. Kurama watches Hiei, with a mark on his forehead right above his eye. Hiei: But if she does, why deny her? Because of some stupid ideal you think you'll never reach? Kuwabara smirks and reaches out to Hiei. Kuwabara: Can't believe I'm siding with Hiei on this, but yeah! Hiei shoves Kuwabara. Hiei: Don't touch me. Keiko nods. Keiko: FOr what it's worth, I'd probably kick Yusuke's ass if he tried to get my memory erased. Yusuke looks shocked. Yusuke: I can't even DO that!! Kurama looks down, pondering all that was said.

Kurama smiles. Kurama: ...I'll think about it. It's not like it has to be right away. Botan/Kuwabara (offscreen): A-HA!!!! Kurama (thinking): They don't understand... I'm the reason that... A flashback from Jina's backstory appears, but it seems to play out a little differently than before. Jina looks shaken as she points to her bleeding scar, speaking to who is implied to be Kurama. Jina (flashback): Did you... do this to me...?

Kuwabara and Botan pop in. Yusuke looks annoyed by this. Kuwabara: AND her knowing you were the ... Kuwabara: ...silver fox of her dreams... snort He, Keiko, Botan and Yusuke all laugh. Yusuke: Right?! Kuwabara flashes a peace sign. Kuwabara: It's a match made in heaven! Or I guess hell... Yusuke: Aren't you jumpin' the gun? We don't know how Kurama feels. Botan puts a hand to her chin thoughtfully. Botan: Now now, Yusuke, he clearly cares enough to talk about her with us... Kurama: You all dragged me here.

Kurama: That being said, I can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind. Kurama shyly looks off to the side. Kurama: ...asking her out, I mean. Keiko: Aww! Botan/Kuwabara: AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Yusuke looks wide eyed at Botan and Kuwabara, who clasp their hands together in excitement. Kurama: But even so... Yusuke: Uh-uh now you're gonna say, like-- Yusuke morphs into a Kurama-looking version of himself. Yusuke: "I'm Kurama, I don't know how she feels about me..." Kurama: Nice try. Yusuke, annoyed, reverts to normal. Yusuke: tch!

Kurama: I won't truly believe it unless she says something herself, but I can't pretend I haven't noticed how she acts around me. Kurama looks sadly off to the side. Kurama: It's just... I don't think it's worth it for her to get involved. I don't think I deserve to- Kurama is surprised to hear Hiei offscreen. Hiei: If I may. Hiei is now on screen with an annoyed Botan. Botan: Nice of you to join us, Hiei.

Talkin' Bout Jina [2/3]

Kuwabara opens a door, inviting Kurama inside his home. Kuwabara: It's a good thing you called me when you did! Kurama: That may be so, but... Kurama: Did you need to call everyone? Inside, Hiei, Botan, Keiko and Yusuke sit and look up at the new guest.

Botan raises a fist and slams a hand on the table. Botan: Yes! I need to be here to save you from yourself! Kurama: By which, you mean... Botan points at Kurama. Botan: Now that you realize Jina hasn't completely forgotten you, you were probably thinking something like - Botan morphs into a Kurama-looking version of herself. Botan: "Oh, I'm Kurama, it's much too dangerous for her to enter the world of demons, I need to erase her memory for good this time!" Botan: Right? Kurama stares silently. He then awkwardly looks to the side, unable to refute the claim. Botan: AHA!!!

Kuwabara talks dreamily. Kuwabara: It's a love story almost as touching as mine and Yukina's!!! A fated meeting that not even amnesia can totally erase! Hiei stares, unimpressed. Yusuke lifts a hand to shout. Yusuke: You aren't even DATING yet! Keiko: What IS their status, anyway? Yusuke: I dunno... I don't think they know, either... Kurama gestures with his hand in emphasis. Kurama: Am I wrong, though? Keiko has had a much more perilous life since interacting with demons, hasn't she? Botan: Lay off my BFF! Keiko: It is what it is. Botan: What a blase response!!!

Keiko crosses her arms. Keiko: I mean, as close as I am to Yusuke, I think it was inevitable I was gonna learn about it sooner or later. He couldn't hide it from me... and I wouldn't want him to. Yusuke: What, you liked watching the Dark Tournament or something? Keiko: Of course not! But I'd hate not knowing what was going on either! Keiko smiles, reaching out a hand to put on Yusuke's shoulder. Keiko: After all, we share all that stuff about each other now, don't we? Yusuke blushes and cracks a smile. Yusuke: Y-yeah yeah...

Botan is shocked with Shizuru catches the foam football she was aiming for. Kuwabara winches as a bead hits him in the eye. Hiei stands still with a scowl as he's pelted with a stuffed bear and a bead.

What was so important anyway… Yusuke: You’d actually be a good fit for this conversation, ya blockhead. We’ll all talk about it later. Jina: So, what was Urameshi-san wanting to know about? Kurama: Well, um…

Kurama: …Why don’t I just tell you later. Jina: Hmph! You and your secrets, Minamino-san! Kurama: Ahaha! A scene from the future. Kurama rests his face down on a table in frustration as Kuwabara and Yusuke talk at him. From across the table. Hiei lowers his eyes and says “stupid.”

Kurama: Come to think of it, we do need to have a word about today- Yusuke: Yeah yeah, crime and punishment. I just wanna make sure I understand somethin’. Yusuke: That Akagi chick… you haven’t told her anything, have you? Kurama: …I haven’t. Yusuke: So how come her story gave ya pause? Yusuke: (whispers) Cuz they were your paws? Kurama: I admit I didn’t recognize her at first… but it seems the office was not the first time we had met.

Yusuke: So, you gonna tell her that was you? Kurama: I don’t think that’d be wise. Yusuke: Why not? Seems to me she’d eat that crap up once she realizes you were her… Yusuke: heh… silver fox … Kurama: Watch it. Kurama: That’s just it, though. She shouldn’t have even a vague recollection of that time like she does. And I didn’t forget to wipe her memory. I never forget.
