On October 12, Matt succumbed to his wounds in a hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, in one of most notorious anti-gay hate crimes in American history.

#MatthewShepard had his life brutally taken, the result of a horrendous hate crime.

With #lgbttq2s rights in jeopardy in the US and beyond, we need to be extra mindful of Mathew's fate and ensure it never happens again.
