Even with Burnice sliding out of her seat and into Piper’s, nearly pushing her off in the process just so she could sit closer and tug on his sleeve while insisting on an introduction at the soonest possible moment, the raven-haired man merely adjusted his aviator sunglasses and crossed his arms over his chest, keeping his gaze firmly fixed on Caesar, as if her approval was the only thing on the surface of the earth that mattered. (Although she does know that Lighter would still do as he pleased whether Caesar approved or not.) Catching a glimpse of the intensity quietly brewing beneath the dark, reflective surface of the glasses, Caesar takes a deep breath and chooses her next words carefully, if only not to aggravate the delicate situation at hand.

Caesar sees Lucy turn up her nose at the name and scoff from out of the corner of her eye, but chooses to ignore it.

Madly and irrevocably, in the throw-all-logic-to-the-wind kind of way, by the looks of it. “Have you lost your mind? Did you even stop to think this through for one second?” Lighter finally takes his eyes off Caesar and trails them onto the short blonde simmering beside her. “No, and ‘course I did.”
