Day 8: Warmth

The weather, and general mood, in Ishgard was chilly, but within House Fortemps that was never the case.

How did Gerhart & Lilium meet? Through the Scions! Y’shtola found Gerhart & roped him into helping her do stuff & Yda & Papalymo found Lilium in the Twelves Wood. They all independently thought “they’d be good to have around more often” & brought them to Minfilia at the same time. Turns out Gerhart & Lilium also BOTH had the Echo! (Aka they started in two different cities then we smashed their timelines together when the WOL has their first meeting with Minfilia) They don’t really interact much with each other during ARR. They meet up to do the big fights but Gerhart mostly is on his own doing stuff & Lilium hangs out in the Waking Sands a lot. It isn’t until they flee to Ishgard post Bloody Banquet that they spend any real, extended time together.

# Is Lilium’s Mom still around? Yes! Her Mother, Rosaliem, is still doing her botany research in Eastern Thanalan. She & Lilium don’t talk much so Rosaliem really has little to no idea what Lilium gets up to in terms of saving the world. Rosaliem is a loner by nature & was a fairly cold mother so while there isn’t animosity between them, Lilium also isn’t eager to rush back home. She does, however, share a good bond with her step-mother, Calo. Rosaliem married Calo, a Keeper miqo’te from the I Tribe, when Lilium was around ten. It’s where she gets the I prefix to her surname (making her I’xia). Calo travels through Eastern Thanalan with Rosalieum & tries to write Lilium when she can but they don’t always stay in one place so a lot of letters get lost. By comparison Calo is very warm & outgoing.

As for Lilium’s father, Rosaliem has never spoken of him voluntarily or at length. Maybe another question for another time?
