Overall, it was nice to revisit this again. While still frustrating to watch, the humor is enjoyable, the artwork fantastic, the music is highly suitable, and voice work is top notch. With that, I'm ready to see live action Lilo and Stitch. Here's hoping it doesn't suck too bad. #LiloAndStitch2002

Yet what ties all this together is the theme of family. Lilo yearns for the family she lost. Stitch yearns for the family he never had. By the end, they find it with other misfits & rejects like themselves, becoming a chosen family. Something rarely seen in Disney films. #LiloAndStitch2002

It's hard to enjoy Stitches antics when we know it's gonna lead to Lilo being taken by child services. It's hard to feel sympathetic for Lilo when she's actively sabotaging her sisters efforts to maintain custody. Yet we have to, or the movie doesn't work. And that's frustrating #LiloAndStitch2002

Having the movie combine a broken family narrative with a wacky alien capture story could only ever work in this movie, and even then, it barely does. Mostly be the movie makes it hard to sympathize with its characters, despite trying so hard to do so. #LiloAndStitch2002

While I acknowledge this movie for having great characters, animation, music, and comedy, i have mixed feelings on Lilo and Stitch in terms of tone and story. Granted alot of it gets fixed in the series but it still feels frustrating when watching for its own merits #LiloAndStitch2002

And that's the story of how Lilo got 4 dads, a new house, a hover car, and her family is under the protection of a galactic counsel of alien species. Your typical feel good happy ending. #LiloAndStitch2002

I get they're trying to show parallels in how Lilo and Stitch are misunderstood walking balls of chaos, but it still feels like they are living 2 different stories. If anything, Stitch's story takes away from Lilo's and makes it worse, only saving it at the very end #LiloAndStitch2002

Gotta say, this whole custody situation with Lilo and Nani sucks. On the one hand, Lilo was gonna get taken anyway cause Nani is just not equipped to care for her. On the other hand, seeing Stitch make this already sad situation ten times worse is beyond frustrating. #LiloAndStitch2002
