Simple joy of walking along a quiet canal and for reveries of a solitary walker. This one is near #Llanymynech #Wales #landscape #photography

Common Blue butterfly on an Ox-eye Daisy flower. Viewed side-on and slightly from above, so we can see the butterfly's body (blue above, white below, and rather furry), his head (white, with a large, black eye), antennae (with black and white rings around them), legs (white), and the upper side of his left wings (blue, with white borders); the right wings are viewed edge-on. The flower has many long white petals, and a yellow centre.

As people are sharing pics of #BlueBugs on 'Blue Monday' here's another Common Blue #Butterfly from #Llanymynech Rocks, who I photographed towards the end of May last year. #SmallWonders #Insects

The Unofficial North Shropshire Bird Survey was on duty for its first outing of 2024 today, as @jannerbirder.bsky.social and I traversed the England/Cymru border at the stunning #Llanymynech Rocks. Highlights included Peregrine, Raven and and some very noisy Jackdaws!
