For my fanfic Choetsu, the piece features Okita Soji among cherry blossoms. His expression is lost, forlorn, as though he’s mourning a piece of himself and a past love. He’s spaced out dragging his hair over his neck while wearing his lover’s Yukata. This is a special piece for the fic, and will be featured in the fall portion. When I originally posted this, I called him a sad beautiful man, something that I feel is captured in the art

Art of Majima from Yakuza 0. His eye is missing, plucked from the socket and he’s holding it like a rosary. He’s in a praying pose, akin to Mary, mother of Jesus. His left eye is growing crow wings, evolving from being a bird in a cage to a free bird, but left to be perceived as carrion. He’s crying from the pain of what he’s been through. This is for an unfinished collaborative fic with my wife called Shed Skin, set in 1988 Japan, where Kiryu is the age he was in yakuza 6, and he tries his best to free a younger, 24 year old Majima from the grip of Shimano.
