This situation is fluid, and she can pivot on a dime.
We go an hour at a time right now. There are 4 other kittens in the house, so my workload will likely increase at some point.

Oral pain meds, and 2 oral parasite treatments. She’s also getting 14ml of fluids 3 times daily, and being force fed every 3-4 hours.
She’s between 24-36 hours into the active disease cycle. 72 hours is the first big milestone. If we can make it there, we have a chance. 3/ #medfoster

Panleuk is brutal and in most shelter systems has a very high mortality rate. (Up to 95 percent)
Austin Pets Alive has a save rate of 78%. That’s a result of a very aggressive, protocol based approach. Gibby is getting 2 injectible antibiotics, 4 injectible nausea related meds 2/ #medfoster

So- Gibby is the only one testing positive for panleuk. Thank god. The others might pop, but for now I’ve got some breathing space.
Gibby held her own today, but feels pretty crappy at this point. She’s got some pain meds on top of the 8 injectable meds/fluids I’ve pushed into her 1/ #medfoster
