A striking pair of vintage 1950s signed handmade sterling silver pre-Columbian Aztec Mayan figure design Mexican modernist screwback earrings from Taxco. A large statement pair of earrings! Entirely handmade in a pre Columbian Tribal Aztec Maya design of a figure with an elaborate feathered headdress! Each measures 2" long by 5/8" wide, and the pair weigh 12.4 grams total. Marked as shown, "Taxco Sterling 925" and maker mark "CD". This is one of a the Taxco silversmiths about whom little is known, but the craftsmanship is obvious and the design is very nice! Excellent vintage condition.
