Cover of the 1974 EMI HMV Concert Classics release of the Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) G major Piano Concerto (1931), paired with the Segei Rachmaninov (1873-1943) Piano Concerto No.4 in G minor (1926). The soloist is Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli with the Philharmonia Orchestra (Ettore Gracis conducting). I believe this is a 1974 stereo recording of a 1959 original. Artwork shows a large, tree-lined lake, with a grand palace, set in lawned gardens in the background.

Sleeve notes for the EMI LP SXLP30169, written by renowned English music critic, writer and concert promoter, Apraham Felix Bartev Aprahamian (1914–2005). The LP is a UK issue, but has a sticker "Made in Holland".

Might have mentioned this before. However, it does bear repeating. Now years ago, via a friend, I "inherited" a stack of classical LPs from a lady I never knew. Sublime collection, sparkling recordings, lovingly curated. A musical gift, passed down a generation to a stranger. #Michelangeli #Ravel
