The study presents a tiny #microgripper at the tip of an #optical_fiber, with soft “fingers” that move when light shines on them. The gripper can gently pick up and move microscopic objects, for example microorganisms🦠

A team of researchers recently published their study in Microsystems & Nanoengineering on January 5, 2024. This study was primarily done by Prof. Xie’s PhD student Hengzhang Yang who is the first author of the paper.
