I was a freak. I know because everyone told me so. They said I didn't fit in, the way I dressed & the way I spoke & the way I liked things too much But I left school, as we all do if we survive long enough, & met new people. they didn't know I wasn't cool. So was cool not an inherent quality? I found ppl who thought I was cool. maybe online cool isn't really cool but it was a taster. They didn't even care when I was a freak Nobody told me cool was fragile. It seemed intrinsic. Inalienable

If I changed even a single atom of who I was, would it shatter like glass? If I was being watched & judged at all times, what if I slipped? "I thought u were cool." Cutting. Devastating. U say the wrong thing & your status is revoked. Rub off the shoddy paint job, find the freak beneath I withdrew entirely from society for a while. Cool doesnt matter when it's just u & ur 4 walls I escaped eventually. gave up impressing folk. Easier 2 exist if it's just me & my fellow freaks

Idk when people started thinking I was cool when I wasn't trying. I'm being a freak on purpose bc that's what I am & what I've always been It's alluring, but it's a double edged sword. I've started to parry If I chase cool & accept cool as currency then I have to live up to others expectations If I make myself cool for 4 myself I don't need validation I'm not cool. I'm a freak If you think I'm cool, that's ur business. I will not adapt myself to continue to win ur approval I'm thru being cool

save money, but treat yrself occasionally have things 2 look forward 2 try buy local & 2nd hand reduce/reuse/recycle dont fund ppl who r already filthy rich if u can help it buy things that last not disposable crap & u rly want not things u r bein told u need & buy cans of spare food if u have cash 2 spare try gardening. grow ur own veg learn basic first aid print how-2s read abt water purification grab a couple survival books if nothing else, u'll not be as worried abt potential disasters

get involved in your community join groups volunteer if people know u & like u they won't want you harmed. it's good for your mental health to connect with people even if you're socially anxious. especially then love ur friends like u love ur family, but set limits with every 1. tell them what u can & can't do look after people, but don't get so bogged down with every 1 else's troubles that you drown urself it's a tricky balance. you're not gonna get it right immediately. but you'll get there.

don't waste your time on stuff that doesn't make you happy or healthy or a better person. time is limited for us all. if something sucks and makes you sad and doesn't make you any better for it, stop doing it. look after your health - mental, physical, social, spiritual, and financial - as much as you can. make it a priority. quote: On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. right now things are scary if you're not rich, white, straight, cis, male or christian/atheist. (even then - jeez) our idols are dead & our enemies are in power do you feel powerless? afraid? sick? yeah. same but if you're reading this right now, you're alive, & you gotta stay that way no matter what this isn't about how to win or protest or fight back. other people can tell you how to do that better. this is about survival. not succumbing to the misery & being prepared in case things get worse

so how do we survive the next 4 to 8 to 20 years? stubbornness and solidarity. no matter what else is said, you are valuable and deserve life, safety, respect, privacy. if nothing else, stay alive just to spite them.

scold me all you like, i will not duel you for speaking the truth. i require no compensation, there has occurred no defamation. i stand proud of my seiðr, my magic, threads and futures, seer, witch, weaver. with every stitch and every candle, every sigil and every word, i gain power, and i know that is feared.
