start to loosen.
Light is entering.
I hold it in my arms -
Hate of my body,
Hate of injustice,
Hate of the other,
and I whisper
“You do not have to be hate,
what will you become?”

I see hate,
it looks like
a black, rolled-up torpedo shape.
I take it in my arms
and hold it.
I whisper gently,
“You do not have to be hate,
what else might you want to be?”
