The impact of irrigation on heat stress is widely debated, partly driven by different sensitivities of #moistheat stress indices to #humidity. However, overall heat stress also depends on #wind & #radiation; & would have the greatest potential for human impacts over #population centers. [2/n]

The positive values suggest that the browning-induced warming dominates over the drying effect, leading to net increase in #moistheat.

Large regional variabilities are also evident, with cities in #Nigeria, #Botswana & #Malaysia showing the highest browning-induced heat stress increases. [6/n]
