Attacking bands support attack triggers
It is harder to evade as if any creature is blocked in the band
the entire band is blocked.
The attacking band can soak damage so the attack trigger creature can still attack safely.

Banding works with trample.
Trample deals excess damage to the foe. It's important as if one creature is blocked in an attacking band, all creature in that band are blocked. Note only the trample damage goes over the top.
