Well, it's been two weeks since Sky had the dental surgery and removal of a growth. She recovered like a champ, and today the stitches come out! NO MORE CONE OF SHAME!!! She will be so happy to have things back to normal. Of course we spoiled her the whole time. Since this weekend was also her "Gotcha" day, from husky rescue... She got her own steak!! Merlin got some too. Hope everyone and their companions are healthy and happy!! The photo is of a happy golden husky, standing on green grass with mostly green plants and pink flowers behind her. Here is my lovely blonde haired, blue eyed walking companion. Sky and I walk each day, twice a day. During the week, mornings are "Maintenance walks". Evenings, weather permitting, are longer and more leisurely. Weekends are adventures!! Here we see Sky, patiently waiting for me to "Get up and go!" Sky is my nature guide and partner. I love to see the world through her eyes. Over the years we have developed our own language. I try to give Sky as much input as time and situations allow. She will let me know when she wants to go a different way, or take the car. When appropriate, I am delighted to comply with her wishes. Sky knows I will patiently wait while she checks her Pee-mail, or is stalking prey... I know Sky will be as patient as she can, when I am taking pictures. Together we hunt wildlife. All Sky want's is recognition for spotting critters, which I always praise her for. Dogs are such amazing creatures and devoted partners. Our lives are dull and drab without their amazing energy. I treasure each day and each adventure with my beloved companion. The photo is of a Sky, a blonde Husky, with bright blue eyes, lying on the floor next to the me, facing the camera.

Here is an action photo of Merlin. Merlin is a Samoyed. Merlin is a therapy dog, and was born to love people. Merlin is a real snuggle-pup, which is what I love about him most! The photo is of a Samoyed dog leaping through the air in a snowy background. The joy on his face is obvious. Samoyeds are known for their friendly, outgoing, and devoted personalities. They are a working breed with a thick, double coat and a distinctive "smile" created by the upturned corners of their mouths. While generally amiable, they require socialization, especially with other animals, and can be prone to barking, digging, and escaping.

It's Mutt day!! Lets see your pups!! Mix, rescue or whatever. Let's see the canine companions that make our lives so rich. We rescued Sky in 2017. She has been the joy of our lives ever since. Her favorite things are chasing squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks. Her most favorite toy is a simple tennis ball, she loves to fetch! I walk Sky twice a day... she keeps me grounded to nature. The photo is of a Huskies face, she is caramel coated and has bright blue eyes. She is smiling for the viewer, her tongue hanging out. Ears straight up and alert.

When we were at the Rookery, weeks ago... I was standing on the shore, as close as I could get to the island. Taking many shots of the variety of birds there. Out of nowhere came an inflatable raft, with a Husky alert and proud, standing on the prow!! I snapped these two shots. Later my wife asked me if I saw them, I told her I not only saw them, I captured the pictures. She belongs to a local Husky group online, and shared the photos, hoping the owner would get to have the photos. It took weeks, but they finally connected!! The owner of this marvelous husky now has these images to remember the adventure by!

It's Muttday again!! Let's see your dogs!! Rescues, mixed breed or not!! We have almost always had two dogs, one a rescue because we believe in rescue. The other a Samoyed, which has sometimes been a rescue. We always have a Samoyed because my wife grew up with them, so that is her favorite breed. I came to fall in love with Samoyed's, because I love Arctic breeds, and Samoyeds are the sweetest! Merlin's love tank has a giant hole in it. He never gets enough love. This makes him an excellent therapy dog. So my wife is a volunteer for crisis response and therapy visits. When Merlin meets people, he makes sure no one is left out! We have had many therapy dogs, all of them were awesome. Merlin was literally born to do therapy. I always wanted a dog that was a snuggle-bug. Merlin is happy to fill that need. Every night when I crawl into bed, to watch tv and wind down... Merlin leaps up and wedges his head next to me. He then happily gets pet and loved up for 20 minutes to an hour. Last night he stayed with me for an hour, fell asleep while I pet him. The Samoyed is sturdily built, with erect ears, dark almond-shaped eyes, and a characteristic “smile.” Samoyeds are medium-sized, fluffy dogs known for their striking white coat and "smile". They are gentle, friendly, and social dogs that make good family companions, especially with children. However, they are also high-energy and require plenty of exercise, as well as regular grooming due to their thick coat.
