A late flurry of snow bringing some beautiful conditions to a local woodland for only a short period of time.
The forecast was for more snow overnight and the next day but it failed to deliver so I was pleased to have forced myself out the evening before.

The winter has been a bit of a miss for me this year, plenty of snow but in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It was lovely to see the forecast suggesting a morning flurry nearby so I ventured out and managed to get an hour before conditions changed.

An early start on Friday morning, destination in mind, mist forecast.
The drive there, mile after mile of mist and then nothing. You could see the morning dew on the other side of the loch. Plans changed, new location, and it turned out to be a good morning.

Union Corner
It seemed appropriate that my weekly phone image should come from Union Corner which was destroyed in a fire a week ago.
A beautiful 175 year old building, survived multiple wars, but victim to lithium batteries.

Straight lines and contrast again for this weeks phone image.
I have taken a lot of building shots for my weekly project, I should really look at doing a project with the camera.
#myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2026
The sun was out yesterday and there were some great locations I came across with wonderful shapes and shadows which work well with a nice contrasting look.
I shot several different compositions but this one jumped out the most.

Another building for this weeks weekly phone image, the tonal changes between the glass and the steel structure has always appealed, but it’s the processing which can make these types of shots pop out.

I took a similar photograph last year and I’ve tried several times to repeat it without success, this week I think I have managed, and this shot was taken close to last years.
For a little difference I have tried to capture the curve of the road this time.
#sharemondays2026 #myweeklyphoneimage
Until Sunday afternoon I didn’t have many options but there was a local location I was going to visit before I ventured into the centre.
I took several shots of the curves and reflections of this building and this has the least imperfections.

One of three options for my weekly phone image, I liked the way in which this lit up the dark streets on a winters morning, the feeling of life.

Industrial Tracking
This week I found myself at an exhibition being held in what felt like an abandoned industrial complex, exploring the nooks and crannies but drawn to the steel structures and the shadows created by the last light of the day.

The Crossing
I was struggling this week for a photograph.
I did manage to get out and photographed this scene, the river was still enough to show some reflection and tonally I think it doesn’t work too badly.

After successfully completing last years challenge to take, edit and share a photograph each week using only my phone, I’ve decided to go again.
So here we are, week one.

Unsurprisingly my weekly phone image comes from Iceland and the beautiful black sand beach at Vik.

Gotham
A dark winters morning with a long figure crossing the bridge and the dominant city landscape in the background.

It was pretty challenging this week to get something for #myweeklyphoneimage but I settled on this one at 36,000 ft.

Lighting up the streets.

Exploring the alleys of the Old Town for my weekly phone image.
#myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2025
The Swan
I rarely, in fact never, photograph wildlife, at least not to share. However, this shot offered lovely contrast between the gracious swan and the dark water.
#myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2025
The nights are drawing in creating beautifully contrasting compositions.
Not something I would have photographed before but my explorations this year for new subject matter is likely to lead me along different routes over the coming months seeking new work.

My weekly phone image comes from the Isle of Harris and it’s fair to say I had a few options to choose from but I’ve selected one of the first images I took, the beautiful reeds at Loch na Moracha.
#myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2025
Walking into the eye of the wave for my weekly phone image.
Storm Amy causing chaos but providing some wonderful waves on Skye.
I didn’t get out unscathed!

Beautiful light one early morning in the big smoke on my way to the office.
As I passed by this building the shadows jumped out at me and I could immediately visualise the strong contrast when black and white.
Another week, another building.
#myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2025
A little exploration at the end of the week when there was some lovely light in the evening giving me a different perspective from my morning walks.
#myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2025
Back to buildings this week for #myweeklyphoneimage, working with some lovely light and the great shadows it was creating on the buildings.
#sharemondays2025
This week I was better organised and I knew the shot I wanted to capture having taken it the weekend before. It didn’t rely on any particular lighting which made it a little easier.
Patterns and markings are definitely a theme from #myweeklyphoneimage with strong bold shapes.
#sharemondays2025
Saturday evening and a little panic set in as I hadn’t taken a single shot with my phone all week…
#myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2025
With the sun shining and blue skies it was a good opportunity with the light, shadows and contrast to try and get #myweeklyphoneimage so I took myself for a wander along the river. Managed to get something plus a couple of ideas for a future week.
Another week and another different subject matter for my weekly phone image.
As I haven’t been out with my camera I’m always on the lookout for interesting subjects, although often leave it late in the week.
