Left side of image is book cover of SORDANEON, Book 1 of the Triempery Revelations series by L.L. Stephens. Cover shows a long human figure looking out at a fantastic city with a glowing power at its core.
Right side is a text excerpt from SORDANEON:

“At Permephedon, I learned... many things.” Though his words halted, Levyathan conversed with his grandfather for the first time in complete sentences. “I learned to scry people the way you, I think, see them. When I see, I cannot hear. When I hear, I cannot see. Those things I touch, I know are real. Dor would help me when I was younger. He helps me now. He shows me words my pathways struggle to create. Through him, my noise becomes clear, my meaning true.”
“Born empaths. Both of them.” Tiflan looked smug. He had long championed Levyathan’s ability and had first suggested sending the boy to Marenthro, believing the immortal might unlock a mind only Dorilian seemed able to reach.
“He couldn’t converse before,” Dorilian said, “because I didn’t show him how. I didn’t know I had to show him how.”
Sebbord said nothing but listened intently as Levyathan continued.
“People are shape and color. Some sharp, some soft, some bright, some dark. Marenthro is bright, enormous. He outshines the sun. You are bright. Dor is... getting brighter, larger. My father is small; he cannot stay bright. Nammuor is... dark. Where he walks, light dies.” Levyathan’s right hand rhythmically tapped the stone floor beside his knee. When he spoke, he looked to one side, never at his listeners. “At Permephedon, I see the Rill, deep below and vast above, folding the skin of the world. Sordan, too, grows bright from the ground and shines beneath the water.”
Sebbord nodded. Dorilian wondered if their grandfather understood what Lev was seeing.

Today is Book Quote Wednesday and the word is SHINE. #bookqw

Today is a chance to shine a little light on Dorilian's younger brother, Lev, who was born prematurely and as a result has differences in how he sees the world...
