Excerpt from the fanfic: Alexis Ness is a force to be reckoned with. He takes the ball to the opponent's side, so secure it looks impossible. The ball and his shoes must be magnetic. The leather seems glued to his soles. No twist nor turn, no step he takes gives the opponent a chance to take the ball from him. He outmaneuvers everyone. Michael understands why they call Ness "The Magician". What he does can not be explained with talent, physics or mere ball control. Michael has run between Frankfurt's defense on a whim, seeing Ness somewhere between the defenders. And then, suddenly, there's a ball by Michael's feet. How? Ness had it just a second ago. There are at least four players from Frankfurt. There's no chance that Ness could have passed the ball. Yet here it is. Just before Michael's right foot, six meters from the goal. There's no one between him and Frankfurt's goalkeeper on his side of the penalty area. A short distance and so many possibilities to shoot. It's eerie how the set-up resembles goal shots practice. And well, isn't that what Michael is exceptional at? His leg moves on instinct. He doesn't even think. He hammers the 5:0 in the upper right corner. There's no offside whistle. The goal counts. Munich is on fire.
I started writing a reverse AU in which Alexis Ness is a star player and Michael Kaiser is just some poor little bastard from the B team who happens to get to play 7 minutes while they lead 4:0 against Eintracht Frankfurt already. And then, Michael's life changes.
