Whataboutism doesn't actually solve any problems, it just arbitrarily diminishes the severity of a problem and by proxy the feelings of the people affected. The amount of people who think that X thing is bad but Y thing is worse, so X thing isn't bad is deeply saddening.

I hate the notion that if someone is criticizing a bad person then anything they say in that criticism is good and/or true. Completely lacks nuance and encourages echo chambers enforcing bad behavior/stigma that is lumped in with actual criticism.
