Vassallo: cooling w/ ice prevents deaths from hyperthermia of all causes. The temp of the ice will overcome vasoconstriction and shivering and still cool the patient. No role for meperidine for shivering. Goal temp ~102F. Add Benzos for agitation. #FOAMtox #nypcc
