—I spent much of my snow day yesterday #repairing the holes in these #oldjeans (made in 2005) with internal #patches (sourced from another run-down pair) and button & craft thread in slate. Almost the entire surface above the knees, front and back, is now a double layer of #denim. #visiblemending

—procrastinating with #mending yet again. But I really did need to get these jeans wearable again, because the other pair I’ve been working on suddenly needs a full back-end #patch job. Now I really do need to get back to grading…

—finally finished my big stack of grading, and I was just thinking this morning that it’s time to get these #oldjeans back into rotation. Here’s the latest round of #mending.

—another internal #patch on these #oldjeans, primarily using #runningstitch. I especially wanted to highlight three circular spots that I imagine were my daughter’s fingerprints from when she was small.

—a #mend from 2023 on these #oldjeans (1st and 2nd pics) held up for about two years but needed #repair again (3rd and 4th pics). I also #patched a big rip higher up, taking fabric from my #olddenim stash. More to come!

I miss jeans. The kind made without stretch. Thick enough to break in not wear out. Stayed up with a belt, rather than tugging down like pantyhose that are too short. Guess I’m old.
