I designed a spacer for my arrow storage tubes to keep my arrows neatly spaced apart. (With taped-on spin vanes, letting arrows rattle around together in a tube invariably ends up with them stuck together and needing to be delicately separated to avoid damaging the vanes.)

I think I may be overdue for an arrow purge... (That's not even all of them.)

I managed to land 12s both times on Big Foot and also the tiny 12 ring of the dragon. Super stoked to hit a 40+ yard raccoon shot through a branch! The shot reminds me a lot of shooting at the little green army men at TACO Wednesdays.

Love #archery photos that show the arrow in flight. Thanks to visiting photographer Amanda Newlove (IG: @amanda.newlove) for capturing this one of me this past Saturday!

New bow (Win&Win Meta DX riser) feels good. Bumped up draw weight a couple pounds to get the same tune on the MXT-10 limbs as on my Uukha SX+s. Between that and the heavier bow mass (3.7kg) it'll be a few sessions before my shooting catches up, but I'm liking it so far.

On April 1 last year I shot my first ever all-gold (9s and 10s) end at the standard 70m Olympic distance. Almost 8 long months passed before I did it again. Then, 5 weeks passed before I did it a third time. Today I did it again, less than 3 weeks later. Progress!

Shoot $60 arrows, they said. It'll be fun, they said. Shot out nocks and damaged (destroyed) two X10s this weekend. First one, doing a drill at 30m, admittedly that was asking for it. Second one at the full 70m. (Yes, I could get pin nocks, but that would add 3gn of weight!)

Photo of me (dressed in black sweatpants and long sleeve shirt, and a black archery chest guard) standing in front of an archery target, giving a thumbs up gesture. Six arrows can be seen in the middle of the archery target, specifically all on the second-innermost yellow 9-ring. In the background, behind a chain link fence is a green hillside, a large deciduous tree bare of leaves, a blue sky dotted with clouds.

And a short while later, with the wind starting to gust as the latest winter storm picks up again, I did it again: 304/360

$1.25 Beiter nock: RIP.
$42 Easton X10 arrow shaft: OK... just.
Whew.

Happened to be in town while the Club de Tir-à-l'Arc de Montréal (CTAM) is having their garage sale so I went to check it out.

I'm envious of their indoor 70m range--a necessity given the climate, I suppose.

Archery comedy. 😂
Came so tantalizingly close to my goal of my first 300+/360 score at 70m today, only to be thwarted by not one but three wild fliers. 297/360 with three shots in the black. If any one of those had been better that would have sealed the deal. 😭
Next time!

Now that I've stopped habitually looking through my scope after each shot, I just tell myself "Focus on making a good shot and sooner or later I'll go down to the target and find all arrows in the gold." And today it happened (again).

Yep, X10s fly real good. The way these things fly dead-straight to the target when I make a good shot is soooo satisfying. I'm hoping most of the effect is mental, but either way, I shot my highest single-round 70m score in over two months today, 280/360. Onwards! #OlympicRecurve #archery

First end shot with X10s. Don't get too excited, this was 30m on an 80cm face, but so far, so good. Next, 50m, then 60 and 70. Since these are about 30gn heavier than my VAPs I'm working my way back small steps at a time to figure out the new sight marks. #OlympicRecurve #archery

Photo of six arrows protruding out of an archery belt quiver resting on a wooden bench. The arrows have yellow "JET6" vanes and translucent yellow/orange Beiter out-nocks fitted over the ends of the arrow shafts. The "Easton X10" label in the middle of the arrow shaft is visible on most of the arrows near the quiver. On some arrows, a white single-digit arrow number label can be seen just forward of the vane; on others, the initials "VTL" are neatly written on the shaft opposite the arrow number label can be seen.

Also, this is bae; the same #Hoyt #Aerotec I used to shoot competitively when I was younger. The only recent additions are new limbs, since my old ones are twisted, and the main stabilizer, since my former coach stole that/gave it away to newer teammates.
