Nate Oats is here to stay as Alabama Men's Basketball coach.
Despite the Alabama Crimson Tide’s recent exit from the NCAA Tournament, the rumor mill regarding Nate Oats’ future in Tuscaloosa has been working overtime.
Last Thursday, Coach Oats finally weighed in, effectively dousing the speculation that he might jump ship for the North Carolina head coaching vacancy following Hubert Davis’s dismissal.
On Saturday night, Alabama Athletic Director Greg Byrne finally broke his silence on the matter and sent a strong message to the Crimson Tide fans. As speculation continues to swirl, Byrne’s message was simple, yet effective.

## Alabama Showing Commitment to Nate Oats
Byrne’s public statement is just the latest sign that Alabama is prepared to do whatever it takes to retain Oats long-term.
According to reports, Alabama is actively working to ensure Oats remains with the program amid growing national interest.
That commitment comes as no surprise given what Oats has built since arriving in 2019. Under his leadership, Alabama has transformed into a consistent national contender, highlighted by:

* Program’s First Final Appearance
Oats has compiled one of the most successful stretches in program history, elevating Alabama into elite company in college basketball.

## Alabama Must Do Whatever It Takes To Keep Nate Oats
The bottom line is that Byrne and the Alabama administration had better do whatever it takes to keep Oats in Tuscaloosa. He’s easily the most successful coach in program history as far as the NCAA Tournament is concerned, and he has the Tide competing for SEC titles year in and year out.
It really does just feel like a matter of time before Oats delivers a title for the Tide on the hardwood.
