He's been a progressive ally for decades, listens to fan feedback regarding "things I didn't consider when I wrote them," works on behalf of RAINN, and is an advocate for trans rights. Gaiman would have to be the world's greatest method actor, more obsessive then Heath Ledger, to be able to fake such inherent goodness to it being deep in his bones, and then, without warning "pull the mask off." The podcast was launched by a company aligned with TERFs, who wanted to find something to use to attack one of J.K. Rowling's biggest critics and discredit him. Let's not also forget that while Gaiman left Scientology quietly, David Miscavige is paranoid that Gaiman will go on the warpath, join Leah Remini's crusade. So he has skin in the game to take out someone before they're a threat.
