Someone #OnTheDoors told me today that a former close friend with whom I’d lost touch in recent years had died of a heart attack three weeks ago. Younger than me. She was a life-enhancing person.
There’s no justice.
This weekend #OnTheDoors: local tactical voting from Lab supporters ❤️ and this quote: “We need women in charge. On the basis of what you’ve told me about yourself, you have my vote.” So that was nice.
Went out #OnTheDoors for a while. Freezing cold, blowing a gale and raining. Came back in as apparently people think you’re weird if you canvas in bad weather.
Another Saturday, another couple of hours talking to people #OnTheDoors. It’s clear that people want local councillors who can be trusted to help our community and not take the opportunity to jump ship for their own advantage.
We’ll see this #OnTheDoors soon enough.
This morning #OnTheDoors: strong antipathy towards Farrige and determination to keep his lot out. #Beckenham
What I’m finding really weird #OnTheDoors is the number of Tory women disenchanted with their own party and not inclined to vote who nevertheless like Kemi, who is a main driver of many of the factors they dislike. Square that circle for me.
I heard this #OnTheDoors today. And not from a Reform voter. From someone who considers themselves “progressive.”
Yep. I still get that #OnTheDoors occasionally
Yes. Anyone might give up fighting, feeling tiny in the face of this huge tidal wave of lies, corruption, dirty money. #OnTheDoors it can turn to apathy. But if you don’t do politics, it will do you. And some people still fight.
I met one of his fans #onthedoors a few months ago. South African immigrant. His “liberal” mate calls him a Na*i. He had the presence of mind to look sheepish for a second when I said that Lowe would deport me, locally born and raised. They actually exist, these people.
On the doors today “Yes. Kemi has done all that while being a mother of three. And she’s an immigrant who has totally immersed herself in our culture.” #OnTheDoors
