I've always pictured Oscar to be the gruff and tough hunter boss he's always been, but Polar being the one to steal his heart and thus get to be the only one in his life. Of course, wasn't an easy process for the tiger. He's always been standoffish and self-centered, with Polar not being spared that side of him ever since he first hired him on as his personal guard/second hand. The polar bear beginning to grow on him, despite his gruffness. Wouldn't be until a mission they would embark on that nearly costed Polar's life, that Oscar would come face-to-face with the emotions and sentiments he had fostered towards Polar and would ultimately become what finally pushed Oscar into wanting more with Polar. Polar, on the other hand, always had a crush on the tiger, cause... look at him! But he knew Oscar would NOT be an easy man to woo; deciding to instead have some patience and just be a great guard/second man and look after the tiger, keeping him company. The rest would follow suit, which certainly played out very well in the end! Just took a bullet too uncomfortably close to his heart for that to happen, unfortunately. All this culminates to this special and profound scene I've wanted to mirror from one of my favorite shows. i believe it really reflects how Oscar's emotions and thoughts have changed for Polar. Oscar has always been so careful and meticulous about all the things he's done but he's never TRULY been afraid of losing anything, not even his own life, nothing of REAL value to him up until now... Money and Power can always be replaced and recovered, but Polar? No... he's only once in a lifetime, so for the first time in who knows how long, he's ACTUALLY terrified... terrified of losing someone so near and dear to him. The bear that has taken his once cold heart.
