Show me what you can do with just a pen!
A gift I gave my parents this holiday #oseiarts

Maybe I'll do some of the others someday. Or at least that last one cos it's fancy, but too fancy for the person I drew for.
construction sketch of a small house. unique features: a curved corner with windows and a divider screen of slats
construction sketch of a small house. unique features: a big bay window in the bedroom and a fireplace in the middle of the house ish
construction sketch of a small house. unique features: a very large half circle of windows, like a round room
construction sketch of a small house. unique features: a very tall almost A-frame roofline
I'm back on my shit #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of an impactor
photograph of an impactor. it has yellow plastic on top and kind of leans forward. has a lot of exposed machinery below the yellow part and sits on a single leg-like support with a rectangular foot on the bottom.
Today: an impactor! I think that's what these are called. Personally, I've always thought this looks like it could he a one-personal sci fi vehicle with a few tweaks. #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a short couch. It has lion paw like legs and curling tall sides reminiscent of the fret top of a violin. Two round cushions sit by each side. there is no back.
same couch, as a photograph now. the legs up the sides are painted gold, while the cushions and round pillows are a red cloth.
Today is a little couch. I wonder who used it? It feels small, but maybe looks are deceiving. #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a chair. the back of the chair isn't along a side, but rather is in the corner of the chair.
photograph of said chair. it is made of a dark wood with what appears to be a black leather cushion built into the seat. The arms curve in a u shape and the legs were tuened on lathes to get nice round shapes.
Still on my hard surfaces theme: this funny chair. Ever see a thing and think, "Huh, I wonder why this isn't more of a thing"? That's me and this chair. Though I suppose it would encourage manspreading lol #oseiarts
pen and marker construction of an engine car of a train. It's 11 x 17 inches, and a few of the Copic markers for it are scattered on the page.
Love a nice train #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a small wall-mounted cabinet, heavily carved, with one bottom shelf and a pair of doors on the top half.
said wall cabinet's photograph. It has a lovely red wood and silver metal hinges. The inside of the door paneling appears to also have inner embossed silver panels inlaid into it. The various carvings and embossing have an organic, plant-based theme, with leaves and only a few flowers.
Today, I study this gorgeous cabinet. It's a ref I downloaded ages ago, so sadly I have no info on it. Look at the panel doors! I just watched a video on those :) #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a square romantic era esque water tower. the top, which has a tiny lookout spire, got cut off, so there is an arrow to a sketch of juat that part next to it.
photo of said water tower. it is made mostly of red brick, with what looks like a light green, possibly copper roof. a weathervane adorns the top.
I have miscalculated today's study, whoops! It's okay, I still had fun and got it all - just in pieces. #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of some long, cylindrical machines. Looks very tech-y and industrial.
Photograph of the same machine. It's mostly whire with blue bottoms and red text. It appears to be almost on some kind of platform suspended over more pipes. The side of the machine reads "KOA ATOM". There is Russian text elsewhere on a sign.
What a fun reference this time! I have no idea what it is, or where I got this from anymore. I think it has something to do with a nuclear plant? Maybe? Anyone in the know, do tell! If anyone knows who posted this, link us!
Last sketch on this page, getting too small. #oseiarts
Blue pen sketch of a hallway in a subway in Japan. The ceiling is covered with pipes and wires, and the camera is looking up some stairs. The top of the stair, in the middle of the walkway, is a large round pillar.
Kinda borked up today's sketch, reminding myself that sometimes I need to establish perspective clearly before I just start. Good reminder. Sort of managed to fix it. Had to draw small because this page is getting full. #oseiarts
blue pen sletch of a fern. the stem forms almost a full ring at the top, and long fern stems radiate off it.
Today I study this fern, because wow what a cool ring at the center!! #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a group of protestors in inflatable frog costumes. Behind them looms a larger frog.
Today, I don't study something. Today, I just sketch my appreciation for a group pf people. #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of some rocky cliffs
photograph from Bryce Canyon. The top layer of the stone here is a lighter hue, indicating the stronger stone that was deposited there. Below is orangey sandstone (I think), which erodes easily. The result of this over time has made a bunch of natural pillars out of the rock as the sediment beside the stronger deposits erodes away first, like fingers clustered pointing to the sky. It's very cool.
Bryce Canyon was one of my favorite places when I went on my trip with my parents. Oh, so cool! I don't know if I can do this place justice with just a blue pen, but I tried. Maybe tomorrow I'll add the spire next to these. #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a car from the side. it has a great rounded form and blunt nose.
Decided I needed to draw this also from the side to really appreciate this shape #oseiarts
a blue pen sketch of a car. it has a uniquely atomic age esque silhouette.
Today I draw this silly vehicle, the IMZ-NAMI-A50 Belka. What a chic logo it has - too small to see here but check the ref in the follow up post #oseiarts
Share you couples art 💋 #oseiarts

blue pen sketch of a brutalist concrete tower rising out of water with a walkway leading to it from the right
photo of the tower, near a cliff and rising out of calm, deep blue waters.
Today, towers from the Hoover Dam. These are on the upper part, and while I know I read what they do, I don't remember anymore! But I loved them the first time I saw them back in...2014? And was thrilled to get to see them a second time on this trip in 2022(2023?), too. #oseiarts
I tagged this wrong help 😅 It was bound to happen someday... well look above for #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of some kind of facility on the water at the base of a cliff.
photograph of a facility that's part of Hoover Dam. it sits at the base, just above the dam water levels. it seems to be covered in electrical stuff and has some wires going up from it, held out on supports leaning away from the cliffs beside it. there's some cars there for scale; it looks tiny but really is the size of a good strip mall.
Today: this...uh....power relay? It's a part of Hoover Dam, but color me ignorant of what it actually is.
Fun thing to notice, though: due to the steep cliffs around the dam, power lines going up need to be held out and away from the walls. Lots of lines there. #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a long-haired cat with a pen next to it.
long-haired black tabby, sitting up and looking to oir right while his body faces left in a very chic s-pose. He knows he looks fabulous <3
Today's wind-down sketch is my cat, #TheCount
Love this furball to bits, and he knows it too #oseiarts
Blue pen sketch of some cliffs
Photograph of red stone cliffs, not quite a butte, stucking up out of the earth and surrounded by shattered rocks that have fallen off of it prior.
I don't know if this rock formation is famous or if it's just a random rock formation anymore, honestly, but it looked fun in my photographs. Taken near Monument Valley, I'm sure, if not in it. #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a small forklift, though the front tines are cut off since I couldn't see them in the photo. It doesn't lift very high, because it doesn't seem to have the front array other similar machines have.
a zoomed in photo of a small forklift parked in front of a platform, likely something it moves often. It is yellow and black, tines going into the platform.
Today I study this lil fella! I was halfway through before I realized I was looking at the back and not the front...
Comes from my previous sketch inside Hoover Dam. Turned it to make a better study. #oseiarts
blue pen sketch of a circular turbine.
photo of a row of turbine towers. they look squat, with red-sided lower halves and then blue metal machines on top. a couple walkways circle it, one at the halfway mark and another around the top.
I hope you'll forgive today's wobbly circles. Being sick means I have less patience. Still, a fun thing to study: turbines for the hydro-electric plant inside Hoover Dam. Went there a couple summers ago, so this is my own photo. #oseiarts
Now bedtime...I made it to 9 pm...I'm a champ
Blue pen sketch of a thick tree. It twists around itself and has short, leafless branches that poke out like sharp fingers.
Today's sketch: this fabulous tree. Drawing trees and rocks are two of my most cathartic, satisfying topics. #oseiarts
a blue pen sketch of a pair of identical towers feom above, on either side of a gently sloping peak of a roof. the tops are ringed with merlons, inside which is not a flat walkable top, but rather a sloping floor much like a funnel.
Towers from Ely Cathedral today #oseiarts
blue pen drawing of what looks like the nose of a fighter jet protruding vertically from a very large cylinder with fins at the bottom. It has little rolly wheels on stilts at the base.
Today's sketch is this, the silliest uh..."plane" I have seen so far: the French Coléoptère from the '50s. #oseiarts
A blue ink sketch of a tower. It has a spherical top and gently flaring tower below it. It is framed by rows of trees and spme distant power line poles. It looks a bit grungy in an industrial way.
Today's sketch is...a water tower? An observation deck? Well, it's called Asiad Tower, anyway! It's in Delhi! #oseiarts
