More tentative layout! #outsideusnothing 's own hellish devil. To create a character you choose an alien then a background and a ship's roll to create your Freetraveler. Layout and writing by me, art by @arachnophonia.bsky.social

Click-bait bit: In this #ttrpg a devil is just another alien.

Let's we go! #outsideusnothing 's own first alien, which you then combine with a background and a ship's roll to create your character. Everything is still we go. Layout and writing by me, art by @arachnophonia.bsky.social . Attention-grabbing bit: In this #ttrpg you can be a vampire in space!

Bein into rpg design will have you saying bonkers shit like "does this font effectively represent a giant monster living in the walls as a PC?" or "why shouldn't I have an exclamation mark after Space Wizard?" I love it. #ttrpg #ttrpgdesign #outsideusnothing

In #outsideusnothing players manage their characters with a dicepool that began as a #nodicenomasters system before it fairly quickly diverged. Vulnerable actions, focused on roleplaying or relying on your ship mates, award dice which be rolled later to fuel far more heroic and psychedic moves.

Hmmm how best to tickle the sensibilities of the #ttrpgcommunity with #outsideusnothing bits? Something about the (I think, humbly) genuinely new dice mechanics? Tables of the many different locations you can visit? Or just contextless playsheets with trivia about how you can be an angel in space?

A screenshot of an RPG table in black and white, with a box around it, and seven numbered points within. The text reads: "1. Consensus: In all matters that concern everyone, you must agree before anything is done. 2. Absolutely Freedom: You may do anything if it does not hurt anyone and may leave at any time. 3. Everyone eats or no one eats. 4. If a fellow Freetraveler needs help, you help them. 5. No roles except those chosen, or those earned: Anyone can choose to be anything, if capable. 6. Contracts must be completed: You cannot risk rumors spreading that Freetravelers are not reliable. 7 The Cant: Freetravelers hail from ten thousand cultures. The Cant unites you. An adopted instantly spotted speech pattern. Everyone knows you, and you are always outsiders just passing through."

Let's talk Freetravelers, ie, the player characters in #outsideusnothing . In the rules light anarchist science-fantasy #ttrpg players agree to be bound by seven behaviors that guide Freetraveling, keeping them flying through a strange, beautiful, and indifferent universe.

Let's talk basics!

In #OutsideusNothing players take on the roles of a ship of Freetravelers, beyond the reach of any corporate or political law, or any of the protections those laws provide. They have each other, their ship, and outside them? Well, the answer is in the name of the #ttrpg

Better, spicier description of #outsideusnothing ?

A #rules-light anarchist science-fantasy #ttrpg about being poor in space, trying to stay find a job, and deciding what exactly you're willing to do to keep you and your friends alive in a strange, beautiful and hostile universe.
