For those who do not know, he has military and extensive first aid experience. We have written an internal security plan as a guide for all our security volunteers. We also need to submit security plans to the city each year, which get approved by the Long Beach Police Department. We strongly encourage everyone attending our event to NOT engage protesters. This tactic has worked in Chicago (two days ago), Philadelphia, and probably other events I am not aware of. If protesters are disruptive, like last year, we will call the police and it will be handled, like happened last year. It is up to all of us to make it a safe environment for everyone, free of verbal and physical harassment.
