Grinding a piece of .5mm Evergreen sheet to the 8mm diameter of the clear plastic piece's center opening to act as the spinning hub. The hub is just thicker than the the clear so there will be .13mm overhang as I want and need. Not seen is the 1mm engine-side part of the hub which will be cemented to the top part.

Sawed two small rings from an 11.1mm Evergreen tube to act as the spinning part of the joint between the blades and hub. Sanded down to .2mm thickness and removed a middle finger fingerprint in the process 😂

A short piece of Evergreen 2.5mm rod will act as the protruding center of the hub. Here I'm holding it with a HiQ mini vise (one of my favorite tools) and bull nosing with God Hand sanding sponge.

The 5 pieces thin cemented onto the clear piece. 😇😇😇

Using a Dspiae circle cutter and Evergreen. 25mm clear styrene, I cut out a 5cm diameter piece of plastic. Not the biggest fan of this tool but it's the best I've tried so far. The white piece is a section of large Evergreen tubing which make spinning the blade much easier.

Broke out calipers and measured to find the center of the clear plastic, then punched a hole. With a Wave tools hand reamer, I enlarged the hole to 8mm.

Frog tape was used as a scribing guide, made to the shape I needed via a Dspiae masking tape cutting mat.

Clear part taped down to a God Hand glass cutting mat, Frog masks positioned on and secured to part (with measurements written down on a piece of tape as a reminder). Using a Dspiae "zero" scribing tool, essentially a metal scriber, I carefully went around the mask until I made enough passes to snap the unwanted sections off.

I broke one of the wheel pegs. Drilled out a 1mm hole in the strut, pushed in and cemented a piece Evergree rod, and cut to length. I replaced the original too-short 4 struts supporting whatever that plate in the front is with longer .62mm Evergreen rod pieces so that they fit from hinge to hinge.

The stowage busell rails were replaced with thinner Evergreen strip for accuracy. Antenna whips padded from stretched sprue.

Love those decals. Turret handles made of super fragile .15mm bent wire.

More older work, the Meng 1/72 ZTQ-15 light tank. Definitely a fun little build, recommended. No, I don't do armor or planes in "traditional" finishes.

1/144 Sazabi no grade from 1988. One of my first airbrush projects. Amazing how different this looks next to the modern RG. Had a ton of fun on this project.

The 1/144 no grade Zugock-E from 1989. One of my favorite mobile suits from my absolutely favorite series, 0080.

One of two areas reworked on the Zugock-E. The vents in the codpiece and the backpack were opened up with louvers added for the lower area and pla for the upper. I also replaced the monoeye lens area in the head with a pla backplate.

The 1/144 no grade Nu Gundam from 1988. Built in Jan 1988, it was the first model I made when returning to the hobby. Finish work is very rough but the journey of a 1000 miles begins with one step.

Reposting some more of my older projects, these kits are the originals from the 1980s. Except for the Zugock-E, paint only with no modifications.

Oil weathering and panel lining. Also used for post shading.

Because Spandau MG08s make total sense for Batman of the 30s flying around in a racer 😂. Machine guns were from a Master Model PE set. The sites are a 3rd party PE addition as are the ammo belts. The base and stocks are scratchbuilt from styrene the greebled.

Batman figure is a Japanese WWII pilot with ears made from shaped styrene strip. Figure hand painted with water based acrylics.

Engine is stock except the thin fuel lines which are .3mm lead wires bent to shape. Base paints were airbrushed AK Real Colors and Tamiya lacquers. Various Vallejo acrylics were handbrushed. Tamiya enamel used as a wash.

Current project, Dora Wings 1/48 Gee Bee early version "Batman 1935". Almost done, just some last bit of weathering left...plus a base of course.

The finished bottom of the one foot with the heel tipped up. The design came from a mook I had for the standard GM. A needed improvement. Seen as well are the drilled holes and scribing in the sole.

The pieces used, from left to right: the original foot prior to opening up the center. The shaped styrene that would support the thruster bells (from the spare parts bin). The sole which would allow the thrusters to be recessed. Actually pretty simple to make and very effective.

The backpack had some photo etch and scratchbuilt parts added, plus scribing, to enhance the look.

To make assembly and painting easier, all joints were hacked to allow parts to snap in place when ready. Once final pose was chosen, CA glue held it all in place. FYI, I typically build statues not posable figures.

The new ears muffs to mimic the box art. Top part was a cut resin bead glued to a shaped piece of styrene.

The original yucky part and the new lovely ears muff.

Making the base part took some effort. Used 5 increasing widths of chisels to carve the openings to the needed size. Did have a few failures before nailing two matching pieces.

Some of the reshaping, scribing, and added details to the head. Worth every iota of energy spent.

The original antenna whips on right, the ones I made on the left. Stretched sprue, a .5mm rod piece for the base, and .2mm round lead wire wrapped above the rod.

Antenna whips installed. Extensive scribing throughout the head. Mohawk extended. Fins on back reshaped and greebled. Added drilled tubing for improved Vulcans.

Scribed details in arms. Thickened the shoulder armor by adding pla plate.

Extended hip height via mutiple layed of Evergreen styrene sheet. Thickened cod piece (now now...😅) by wrapping ebtire area in styrene sheet. Made new V mark from shaped styrene strips.

The original cannon mount was goofy so completely reshaped including the vent below.

The cannon attachment to the shoulder was redone adding a more accurate pinion.

Torso and hips were originally two halves. I cut and separated so as to extend the hips section.

Visor was originally molded into the head. I cut out, shaped a piece of clear blue Evergreen styrene, glued in place, greebled details to place behind the visor, and painted the interior a metallic finish.
