The reply I received when I pointed this out via their website’s public comments form. The text reads: Hi Kelsey, Thanks for your comments. Artists are expensive to hire and or commission. It's not a high priority since we want to attract people to our show. Even a very, very tiny percentage of people passionate about roses look past the advertising or see it for what it is -- advertising. Some of our past ads were images of superimposed balloons, which is probably worse. I get your comment about art, but it's out of our bailiwick and is not a part of our budget for now. I hope you enjoyed the roses.
This is the attitude that is destroying the creative industry. You see it as important for your reach in a community, but you feel that paying for the artwork is beneath you so you use a tool that steals from artists.
Shame on you SF Rose Society.
