A baking tray of puff pastry rectangles, dotted with sliced peaches, ground nuts and sugar, waiting to be baked.

Alas, ran out of almonds. There goes my cyanide-symbolism. But "ground nuts" is just as good.

The peaches have been sliced, diced, laid to roast on a bed of puffery.

Now, to put them in the fire..
