This week Reception children have been innovating a the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Look at this incredible 5 sentence story that a child wrote independently! This is so impressive for this early on in the year! Beautiful illustrations too! #perseverencestc

As part of DT, Class 5 have been investigating how to strengthen shapes. We found out that diagonals are very useful to make a square more rigid.

This week, Reception have been working on perseverance. They had a very tricky obstacle course and had to really think about how to move around it and keep trying to master the skills needed. They were so proud of themselves when they achieved their goal! #perseverencestc

This week the Reception children have been working on their addition skills. Some children were even able to record their addition sentences independently! Amazing work! #perseverencestc

Reception have been exploring what materials would make the best boat. They made predictions about which materials would float and which would sink, then they tested this out. We had some wonderful scientific discussions! #perseverencestc

Thinking outside of the box in Reception! One child was making a bridge to help her cat get across the river, when she found a boat! Problem solved! 😂 #perseverencestc

Reception have been busy constructing to bridges to help the goats (and other animals!) to get across the river. We realised that our bridges would need steps or a ramp to help them up. Great teamwork! #perseverencestc

Reception have been learning their number bonds to 5 by playing 5 pin bowling! They have had so much fun seeing who can knock over the most pins and working out how many are left to get. #perseverencestc

Reception have been learning about repeating patterns- they made their own candy canes, carefully threading the beads onto the pipe cleaners. Very festive! #perseverencestc

Our Year 5 and 6 children have started to learn Latin and can now say hello and introduce themselves. Today they generated their own Roman name and drew themselves as a Roman character. They had so much fun looking at the meanings behind the names and their artwork was amazing! #perseverencestc
