Three hikers sit on a rocky ledge looking at the rocky plain with a small lake and the rugged mountains ahead. Their backpacks are scattered around the rocks in front. Pinchot Pass.
Two backpackers descend steep switchbacks through rocks at Pinchot Pass.
One of my hiking buddies, trail name Cedar took this photo of me in the high Sierras. I am facing away from the camera carrying my trekking poles in a vast plain with low vegetation that has turned brown with the autumn chill. There are rocky mostly treeless peaks in the distance with a dusting of new snow. The sky is blue.
Two backpackers are silhouetted in the distance as the descend a rocky trail. Some tall firs li e the trail and the sun is lighting up a tall peak in the distance that has fresh snow. The sky has streaks of grey and white clouds.
20 years ago OTD on our #pct #thruhike we did #pinchotpass 12,090 ft and #glennpass 10,054 ft and saw epic scenery! Over a pass, down a valley, up another pass! #longdistancehiking #backpacking #sierras. Thanks to my hiking buddies the VIPs and @tapirsmith.bsky.social
