Today's FAQ Friday uses a dark teal colour scheme and asks how do I make a placing request?
Answer card one of three explains that there are different routes to progress a placing request depending on where you want your child to go to school. If the request is to a local authority run school, the request must go to the local authority responsible for running the school. This may be different from the local authority area you live in. For independent or grant-aided schools, an application should be made to the local authority where the child lives.
Answer card two of three highlights placing requests must be made in writing, or in another form that can be referenced or accessed in the future, for example video or audio recording. Placing requests are usually made through the local authority website.
The final answer card of the set explains that a placing request must include particular information including your name and address, your child's name and age, the name of their current school (if any), the name of the schol you have chosen and the reasons for your choice.
