Trapped debuff is a cobweb on a green background. A tooltip box says Trapped, this monster is trapped! And can't switch out

To test, I've given Psycho 4 Passives - Intimidate (Lowers opp. ATK on switch in), Spiky Surface (deals 15% recoil to any who make contact), Quick Fortification (+1 DEF on switch-in) and Rise and shine (+25% hp on switch-in). All Passives activated, but Psycho has no Battle Techs so can only Rest / Leave Fight so not a very viable strategy but the freedom to do that is there :D
I've always thought abilities were really interesting in Pkmn, changes how each of them battles and gives personality & theming.
So, working on adding Passives to Planet V, like with Battle Tech swap them in/out, have 0-5 if you want 🤯🥴 info in alt

Soo glad to get it working first time. I gave Vineper a physical Electric attack so if it hits a puddle whilst trying to attack me, it will electrify the puddle turning it into a hazard for myself or other monsters. Already works for projectile attacks 😄

Took awhile to get motivated to working on this, but monsters can now lunge/charge/tackle at the player. Needs a bit of polish, but I'm glad to just get it started and partway completed and it feels pretty good already :D

An older version of #PlanetV. it started with a crowd watching monsters fight. There's a competition at the end. The player then controls the spotlight to pick an audience member to be winner/the player character. Think I had set it up so the crowd cheers with moves too 😆 #gamedev #solodev #indiedev

Design process, Tried out a flower head at first, but couldn't get it to work. Then worked Venus fly trap in as the mouth. Before adopting more of the Venus fly trap shape into the overall head and add a bit of scary cute

Introducing Vineper. A Nature/Reptile type. They hide amongst leaf litter and ambush smaller creatures, their appetite is never-ending.

Player's monster Spoctor has a 'Spikes' buff (if attacked, deals 15% damage) due to having the move 'Spiky surface'. Player's monster Spoctor uses Repair a non-attacking & unrelated move turn 1, Enemy Dummy uses Tackle and therefore suffers 15% damage
Introducing Passive Tech!
They basically function like abilities, granting a buff at the start of the fight but take up a move slot. As with all techs, customisable, slot them in and out as required.
Prototype stages but exciting! 🤩

So in Planet V, even though Hyperbeam is strong, you'll soon run out of Stamina. Feedback Laser is different. If you're KOing monsters you can keep using it. But if you don't, you're in trouble, also if the move is blocked, dodged, or hits an immune target.

So, the player has had the ability to use battle techniques, outside of battle (internally known as Oobs).
Now wild monsters can use them too.
Oobs affect the player, other monsters and the environment (cooked cactii).

Thoughts on the new party UI?
Each of your party's UI changes depending on what they were caught with.
Mini UI displays quick info: Nickname, Level, HP, Stamina, Trust, Monster image.
The 'i' button brings up a more detailed page with moveset, typing, stats etc
