A skein of dark brown/black yarn, coiled into a ball is lying on an unbleached linen sheet. The yarn has tiny flecks of grey, here and there, and looks very soft and invitingly squishy.
The same skein of dark brown/black yarn, now twisted together, is lying vertically on the right of the picture. To the left are three more skeins, lying horizontally with one end touching the dark skein. From the top, the three skeins are a mustard yellow, light orange and a kingfisher blue. They all make a striking contrast with the dark skein.
The first skein of coloured Romney Shetland is finished. It plumped up beautifully in the final wash and is every bit as squishy as it looks. It’s going to make a great contrast for my plant dyed yarns!
