Nepenthes (((lowii x veitchii) x boschiana) x (veitchii x maxima) x veitchii)) x platychila Yeah. One hybrid from like 7 generations of hybrids. Thin mottled pitcher with a broad, smooth peristome striped in blood red and flushed deep red too.

Eclipse going on, something else in the greenhouse also looking like a blood moon. Full name in the alt text because it’s a lot :P

Centaurea cyanus ‘Blaue Gefullte’ Bachelor Button, a plant with edible, anti-inflammatory flowers

Psophocarpus tetragonolobus, Winged Bean. Every part is edible, from the tuberous roots, to the young stems and leaves, to the pale blue flowers, to the strange, gigantic bean pods that bear four serrated wings along their entire length.

Found an odd double flower on my butterfly pea. Yes, they are just about this blindingly blue in person. And if you steep the flowers in hot water, the blue hue leeches out and can be added to teas, other drinks, syrups…and will change color to pink if acidified.

This fur is a plant nerd too, and just discovered this first in my greenhouses: Clitoria terneata, the Butterfly Pea. Often used to make magical color-changing drinks because the blue pigments react with acids and bases to turn pink or purple.
