So . . . a certain Cimmerian barbarian showed up in Darfur in my Hyborian War PBM game. I'm sending him off to rescue one of my Agents that has been captive in Stygia for many many turns, who I can't afford to ransom and haven't been able to rescue. I hope the barbarian will get it done! #playbymail

Cover of the GANGLORD PBM game. A pen and ink drawing. In the foreground are black leather-jacketed arms with scorpion tattoos on the backs of the hands. A right arm on the left of the image carries a heavy chain. A left arm on the right Carrie’s a revolver. In the background are two buildings, a multi-story office building on the left and a brick building with arched windows on the right. In the middle is a wooden fence with three figures wearing open vests. At left is a man nonchalantly standing with a foot on an overturned garbage can, holding a futuristic pistol. On the right is a hulking man with a shotgun. Between them is a woman with a knife held in her teeth and a hand on the hilt.

Art for back cover of GANGLORD PBM. Pen and ink drawing. An elderly woman in head kerchief and long coat walks with a cane on the sidewalk past a decrepit storefront. The window of the store is broken. Graffiti to the side of the window reads VANDALS. A car with the wheels gone is propped up on bricks next to the curb.

#PlayByMail Back when I was young (20) and ambitious, I wrote a computer (TRS-80)-adjudicated play-by-mail
Game about inner-city (future) gang warfare inspired by “The Warriors” and more. I haven’t been able to find any of the materials for it for nearly 40 years. Today, the box was opened.

If anyone knows a good article on Rift Lords / Riftlords strategy, I’m all ears/ eyes. Anything in Flagship or Paper Mayhem? #PlayByMail, #PBM, #FlyingBuffaloIncorporated, #RickLoomisPBM.

The glorious visions/pursuits of youth!

Look at the careful cutout-and-glue action that has created this cover. I sense the use of a compass/pencil combo on the map.

En Garde!

OK. No laughing at the back (or at the front) but this Pen & Paper gamer wonders ...

... have any scholars of 17th century #FrenchHistory (#🇫🇷 #FRhistory, 🗃️) reviewed the old #EnGarde #RPG (most often played as #PlayByMail #games)?
