Used a knife to dice those canned Roma. Marjoram, basil, s&p, bay leaves. Tbsp of tomato paste to add umami & thicken. Simmer. #polpettone
Added large can roma tomatoes, can fire-roasted tomatoes, can mushroom bits. Chopped roasted red peppers. About 2 cups water. #polpettone
Don’t put garlic in right away, it browns more quickly than onions. Add about halfway. Here’s my finished onions + garlic. #polpettone
Tomato sauce can be made from fresh or canned ingredients. I start with chopped onions + olive oil + butter & simmer #polpettone
