You want your prose to be clean, high and tight. Clarity is top shelf. Vague is the enemy. Padding is bad form. Pacing is clean and brisk. Removal of tangents and lecturing of the reader must be done. Promotion of writer 'opinion' must be vanquished.

Yes, I agree. Obvs, our creative processes are unique but it helps me to keep the story in mind. That said, if jaded, I'll pack it away for a couple of days and agonise whether to return to poetry! 😆
