Did some direct comparisons of my NGS-spec Shiva, Hariette and Varuna recreations to their base game versions and hmmm....still a lot of fine tuning I have to do, but I think I'm reasonably close with at least Shiva and Hariette.

I think up close and in ideal lighting conditions, cel shading looks better but if there's partial shadows, distance, multiple light sources etc, no cel shading looks better 🤔
