In 2023, I had the pleasure of presenting to the canine world the renewed version of my first literary work, 'And dog decided to meet man', originally published in 2012. This edition, enriched with scientific data updated in December 2022, offers a new perspective on the origins of our faithful four-legged companion. Among the pages of this book, you will find my personal reconstructions of dog breeds that have long disappeared, such as the mysterious 'Paranà dog'. This ancient inhabitant of South America, who lived about 2000 years ago between the lands of Peru and Argentina, was a specimen of medium size, with a height at the withers of 45/50 cm and a weight between 18 and 22 kg. Characterized by proudly erect ears, a mesocephalic skull and a mesomorphic structure, it's hypothesized to have had a tail elegantly curled over its back. 1/2

A chapter with particular interest is the one dedicated to canine cognitivism, where I talk about the extraordinary mnemonic abilities of Chaser, the border collie who recognized over 1000 objects, but knew how to do many other things. His intelligence had no limits, as did the special bond of her to John Pilley, the professor who was not only her mentor, but also her life partner and renowned psychologist and researcher.
