North African "Arabian greyhounds" Can be traced back to Morocco, Algeria, Libya, and Tunisia. Their exact history is somewhat unclear due to not being known well outside of Africa. But they have been owned among nobility/chieftains alike. Like the Basenji they are one of the oldest breeds in existence. Very loyal to their people, strong prey drive. Put on game such as hare, fox, jackal, gazelle, and wild pigs and very valued among Berber tribes for that reason.

I checked some tags and I'm disappointed to see ppl love to bash on real breeds now which is WILD considering normalizing obtaining backyard-bred animals thru ANY means (bought AND rescued) has led to a huge increase in bite/behavioral/bad health stats and misinformation about health/training, esp after the pandemic. And the vets/groomers/trainers agree as many of them pay the price as well as owners who actually wanted to do good but reality slapped them in the face. There's so much out there that goes against what has been taught as responsible ownership/breeding/maintaining animals it's insane.
