Evacuations Rainier Manor remains at a Level 3 – Go now evacuation. Pumps and crews are helping to reduce water seeping into the neighborhood through the levee. On the north end, the neighborhood off 29th Street is now at a Level 2 – Get Set evacuation level (see map below). Pack essential items into your car in case you need to evacuate quickly. The issue is storm water backing onto 29th Street and other neighborhood streets, so access is the main concern. Our crews are heading there to try to reduce that water, but residents should prepare at Level 2.
This evening, the Corps told us they would start releasing water into the White River to alleviate pressure on Mud Mountain Dam. They hope to release no more than 10,000 cfs at the dam, which means impacts of approximately 12,000 cfs in Sumner. They emphasized this is a very dynamic situation and they’re assessing their needs hourly. We’re doing our best to convey to you what we think will happen with the information we have. Evacuated residents can go to the Gordon Family YMCA as a day shelter to get dry and comfortable. You don’t have to be a member; you just have to show your ID.
